Before that, Michael spent two years in Germany performing the title role in the European premiere of The Who's Tommy, which he originated in La Jolla and on Broadway (Tony nomination, Theater World Award, Original Cast Album Grammy). Among his other New York theatre credits are Total Eclipse, Abingdon Square, Life is a Dream, and The Games with Meredith Monk and Ping Chong at BAM. Regional: Romeo (Goodman), Mercurtio (Old Globe), Puck (Dallas), Tooth of Crime (Hartford Stage), Measure for Measure (Old Globe), Eastern Standard premiere (Seattle Rep) Richard II (Mark Taper), Nothing Sacred (Northlight). TV:"Fame" series regular, "Equalizer", "Dream On", "Tracey Ullman Show." Film: Tokyo Pop, Steel and Lace, Rock and Roll High School Forever and Paul Auster's upcoming Lulu on the Bridge. With his band, lame, Michael has played Sin-E, Wetlands, China Club, festivals and clubs in Germany, and support for Lloyd Cole. This Fall, he will tour the US and Europe playing guitar and singing with Bob Mould's band. Michael sends his heartfelt thanks to those who taught him the words, the moves, the notes, and how to remove unwanted body hair; to Peter, Joe, Lisa and all the Inches, and most of all to John and Stephen for the gift of this month and for the nail polish.

The Titanic History of the Hotel Riverview

The Riverview was erected in 1907 as a lodging house for able-bodied seamen. In 1912, it housed the surviving crew of the Titanic who reported being haunted by the ghosts of their less fortunate shipmates. Herman Melville is rumored to have worked the front desk. Over the years, the Hotel's Grand Ballroom has played host to a number of nightclubs (The Rock Hotel, Club Jane) and theatres (Theater for the New City). Hedwig and the Angry Inch inaugurates the newly constructed Jane Street Theater.
