Interview with Michael Cerveris
Frankfurt, Germany 1995

Susanne Froehlich:
Hello!

Michael:
Hello! How are you?

Susanne:
I'm quite fine.

Michael:
Good.

Susanne:
Ok. Could you explain to the
visitors who you are?

Michael:
I'm Michael Cerveris.
I play Tommy in the musical Tommy.

Susanne:
You are Tommy

Michael:
I am Tommy - big Tommy

Susanne:
How long are you already here now?
(to viewers in German: how long is
he now in Frankfurt, he plays the main character in Tommy, in the
musical in Offenbach
)

Michael:
Four months, I think so far.

Susanne:
And how do you like Frankfurt?
Compare Frankfurt - is it boring or
is it like a real big city and you like it?
(in German: does he like Frankfurt
or does he thinks its boring).

Michael:
Frankfurt is great! Frankfurt is great.
We get here as much as we can.

Susanne:
That was intelligent to say that.

Michael:
Yeah, I need to get out of here eventually.

Susanne:
(In German: He says every weekend (now her opinion:) okay if it would be a little colder and they would do it in the fall, so I would not transpirate , then it would be wonderful.)

What do you think about this giant event?

Michael:

I think it's great.
I think it should be here every weekend.
Give us something to do.

Susanne:
Ok. What do you like- which part of
Tommy is your favorite part?
You play it all the time which part is
one where you say well I really like it?
(in German: which part of Tommy is for him personally the best, he plays it every day, what
does he feel is really great).

Michael:
I think it changes all the time.
Right now I think it's probably
"I'm Free" when I get to...

Susanne: <singing>

"I'm Free!"

Michael:
Exactly

Susanne:
I really liked it.
(in German: I had been of course in
Tommy and I think you all should go to
this show)

They all should go!

Michael:
Absolutely! Genau

Susanne:
Absolutely

(In German: it is a really hot musical.
So you all lift your ass and go to the show
)
Na Klar

Michael:
Na Klar

Susanne:
You like "Caught in the Act?"
"Caught in the Act" is the next number

Michael:
I think we'll catch them next.

Susanne:
(In German: and I think this sound will tell us something (people were screaming). No, I think they will have put only there head out of the curtain and showed them to the people)

And we've got to tell the people
what there is in the program

Michael: <reading from program>
"Caught in the Act" and then "Soul Sister"

"Charles and Eddie"

Susanne:
(in German for the old viewers, not to "verwechseln" with Harald and Eddy, where Harald Juhnke take part, no he is not here.)

Michael:
I was going to say that but...

Susanne:
<laughing> Ah ok!
It was not the best one so you don't worry

Michael:
<laughs>

Susanne:

And then what we have ..

Michael:
"Cut 'n Move"

Susanne:
You know "Corona"?
<sings> "Baby Baby.."

Michael: <holding up glass>
I know Corona but ahh

Susanne:
<laughing>
You don't know this Corona

Michael: <laughing>
I don't know that Corona

Susanne:
You know the "Rhythm of the Night"
-

Michael:
Yes

Susanne:
This "Corona".

Michael:

Susanne:
