In a rare public appearance, composer Stephen Sondheim, stars Patti
LuPone, Michael Cerveris, and cast members of the acclaimed Broadway
revival of SWEENEY TODD, signed copies of the new Nonesuch cast recording
on the date of its release - Tuesday, January 31 and BroadwayWorld
was there! The signing took place on stage at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.
The SWEENEY
TODD recording, produced by Tommy Krasker, is a 2 CD-set that includes
90-minutes of music and 92-page booklet, complete with slip cover.
SWEENEY TODD
features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Hugh
Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond. The production is
directed and designed by John Doyle, with music supervision and
orchestrations by Sarah Travis. The ten member ensemble also includes:
Mark Jacoby (Judge Turpin), Donna Lynne Champlin (Pirelli), Manoel
Felciano (Tobias), Alexander Gemignani (The Beadle), John Arbo (Jonas
Fogg), Diana DiMarzio (Beggar Woman), Benjamin Magnuson (Anthony),
Lauren Molina (Johanna).
