Fame - Ian's Girl page 6

School Office

Ian:
Mrs. Berg -
I got a message that some
papers came for me?

Mrs. Berg:
Oh yes - Congratulations.
Your application has been accepted.

Ian:
Application?

Mrs. Berg:
Yes to the Sikovia competition.
They need some more information
on you. It's quite an honor.
We haven't had a student accepted
in years. Mr. Shorofsky will be so proud.

Shorofsky's Classroom

Ian:
I suppose you thought this would
be a nice little surprise?

Shorofsky:
No I knew you would object at first
and I apologize for the deception but
you were accepted and that's what counts.

Ian:
I'm not going!

Shorofsky:
You're making a mistake!

Ian:
No. You made the mistake!
You had no right to enter me in
this competition.
You are my teacher!
Not my keeper!

School Hallway

Reggie:
You all right?

Ian:
Fine.

Reggie:
I thought you were terrific last night

Ian:
Thanks.

Reggie:
Sorry about the fight.

Ian:
Wasn't your fault was it

Reggie:
Going to drama?

Ian: (not turning around)
Yeah in a bit.

She leaves, hurt.

Jesse:
Hey Ian- wait up man.
Boy Shorofsky really
stepped over the line didn't he?

Ian:
Yeah, it's always happening that way.

Jesse:
Sometimes that's what it takes.

Ian:
Well I'm getting a bit tired of it you know.
I'd like to do what suits me for a change.

Jesse:
That's pretty unrealistic
don't you think?

Ian:
Is it?

Jesse:
Look man he thought he was doing you
a favor so why don't you go talk to him about it?

Ian:
Why?

Jesse:
Because I think he feels bad

Ian:
Oh he feels bad!
I don't care!

Jesse:
All right - all right don't take it out on me.

Ian:
Oh why not?!
now it's you pushing me!

Ian slams his locker shut and leaves.

Club
Tony:
You're way off Wil!

Wil:
That's the way I played it last time.

Joanna:
It sounded better last time.

Ian enters.

Ian:
A to B7 try it.

That'll work heh?

Tony:
Gotta lunch pass Driver?

Ian:
Sort of.

(to Joanna)
I'm coming with you.

Joanna:
I told you no

Ian:
Not Boston - Jo.
I'm coming home.

The Club

Ian:
Hey! Hey! Wait! you're way too heavy
on the drums you've got to bring it down.

Tony:
Sounded fine to me Nick.
Just when we were getting along so well.

Joanna:
He's just joking Ian.

Ian:
We want to do this right don't you?

Will:
Quiet everyone. Mr. Ware is taking over
and he does have classical training now

Ian:
I'm not taking charge.
We've got a lot of work to do
before Boston heh?

Will:
Yeah would you like a arpeggio or fortissimo?
